It’s no secret that trees are one of the best ways to fight climate change. They suck CO2 out of the atmosphere every single day, provide homes for wildlife, stop deserts from spreading and turn barren grounds back into fertile woods and farmland.
Eden Reforestation Projects is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to provide fair wage employment to impoverished villagers as agents of global forest restoration.

To offset a cup of coffee we need to create between 0.8kg-1kg of CO2e, the emissions vary slightly between types of coffee. There are several projects that we support in order to generate these carbon credits.
Sidrap Wind Farm Project in Indonesia. Generating enough clean energy from wind to power over 70,000 local homes in Sulawesi, Indonesia. This wind farm reduces air pollution as wind energy releases no emissions, making it a clean source of power.
The project also provides local employment opportunities, creating over 35 new jobs for locals.

The partners that RWRD work with only fund carbon offset projects that meet the highest independent verification standards, including the Gold Standard and the Verified Carbon Standard.
In order to be certified by one of these standards, the projects have to show evidence of their ongoing impact, which is monitored closely.
