When discovering better coffee, there is no place more important than the communities and farms at which its grown.
While we’re lucky enough to enjoy pure & filtered water in our coffee as the end customer, it seems wrong that the communities at the start of its journey face a water crisis.
Today, 785 million people around the world don’t have access to clean water. The majority live in isolated, rural areas – the same areas growing our coffee.
This is why we’re delighted to say that we’re now supporting Project Waterfall – a charity working to end the water crisis in our lifetime.
Project Waterfall brings clean water, sanitation and education to coffee-growing communities across the world.
Regardless of where a community is, or how big it is, Project Waterfall’s aim is to implement tangible and sustainable solutions that create access to water and improve the quality of it.
Since 2011, they’ve raised over £1 million and changed more than 50,000 lives in Nicaragua, Tanzania, Rwanda, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Going forward, we’ll be highlighting how the RWRD community can help Project Waterfall in their work, and ensuring coffee communities around the world receive fair access to the clean water so desperately needed.
